Investigation and immediate action

We call on the relevant authorities to investigate the documented incidents, take immediate action to help animals that are suffering, and address the problems with the handling of dead animals and waste.

Transparency and accountability

We call for inspection findings, follow-up action and measures to prevent further violations to be made public.

A shift towards a more plant-based food system

We call on the government to develop a national action plan for plant-based foods, following Denmark’s example, with specific measures to support plant-based food production and consumption, promote plant-based options in public catering, and help producers and businesses through the transition.

The THIS IS GYROS campaign looks beyond what happens inside farms to ask a wider question:

As a society, what kind of food system do we choose to fund, support and build?

For REthink ANIMALS, the discussion cannot be limited to improving conditions within a system that uses sentient animals as means of production. By exposing the reality of their lives, we open up a discussion about more fundamental change.

We support a gradual transition towards a more plant-based, sustainable and just food system that does not rely on the exploitation of animals. This transition goes beyond individual food choices: it also involves policy, public funding, food production, access to food and animal rights.

Scrutiny of public funding

We call for transparency over the public funding received by the farms featured in this investigation, and checks on whether they met the conditions attached to that funding.
